The balloon flight

Is the balloon flying today?

Every morning just before opening and several times during the day, our pilots carry out a test flight to check if balloon flight is possible. Using measuring instruments, they determine the color of the day: Green: ideal, no wind at altitude, it's time to gain height! Orange: balloon flight is possible, but it can stop at any time if the weather changes, so let's take advantage of it right away! Red: it will not be for today! They take into account the wind at altitude, storm cells 50km away, the presence of cumulonimbus… Our pilots have practical and technical training, and even a license to be able to fly. It's a real job! Do you come mainly for the balloon flight? Check our website from 10 am, we can tell you if the flight is provided.

Will the balloon fly in 3 weeks?

Maybe! It is impossible to predict in advance the meteorological conditions specific to the flight of the captive balloon. We will only be able to tell you in the morning even if the balloon flies for the day.

There is no wind but the ball stays on the ground. Why?

Our Park is located at the foot of the Vosges. It’s very pretty, but very windy at altitude! Even when you don't feel it on solid ground, it is sometimes enough to rise a few tens of meters to be tossed around! Similarly, in case of strong heat, especially in the afternoon, we are not immune to sneaky gusts of wind which seriously compromise the flight in a balloon. Several times a day, our pilots carry out a test flight to check if the conditions have changed. They want to fly as much as you do, but safety first!

Is there compensation if the balloon doesn't fly?

If the balloon has to stay on the ground due to bad weather, we offer you a virtual reality flight to discover the Park from the sky! This animation takes place in the very basket of the balloon

An expired ticket

First of all, check the validity date on your ticket. If your ticket has expired, here are the different scenarios:

A ticket from 2022

Your 2022 tickets (excluding free invitations or contests) can be extended throughout the 2023 season for an additional €5/person. All you have to do is present your ticket at the cash desk on the desired day of your visit and pay the difference.

An expired GROUPON ticket

If your group ticket dates from 2022 or 2023 but has expired, you can extend it for an additional €5/person directly at the Park ticket office.

A ticket older than 2022

Tickets prior to 2022 cannot be extended.

I made a mistake when buying my SMART ticket and I want to change the date, is it possible?

SMART tickets cannot be returned or exchanged. If you wish to change the date, you will have to pay an additional €5 directly at the Park cash desk

The accessibilty to the attractions

What age group is the park aimed at?

Our park is mainly for all children, but also for all those who have been one day and who have kept their child's soul. Most of our young visitors are between 2 and 12 years old, but there is no age limit for appreciating the poetry of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's work.

Is there a regulation size to enjoy all the attractions?

Whether you are very small or giant, there is something for everyone at the Parc du Petit Prince! However, there are some regulations that define a minimum size on certain attractions. Our sensational attractions (The drinker's aerobar, night flight, underwater planet, the Serpent) are accessible from 1m (South Atlantic and Pierre de Tonnerre 95cm) for accompanied children. Have you looked at the plan yet? You will find all the details there! Safety first! Our playgrounds are sometimes subject to an age limit: the zip line, part of the citadel and the large swing will delight children from 6 years old. But what is valid for the little ones is also valid for the older ones! Our inflatable structure is only reserved for children under 1m20. Children are the responsibility of their parents.

Is the park suitable for children under 1 meter tall?

It's never too early to discover the magical world of the Little Prince! Thanks to its free entrance, your child will have the pleasure of traveling from planet to planet while discovering attractions and activities adapted to their age and will even have the chance to board our star attraction: the balloon! We particularly recommend the following attractions: Interstice, the Little Prince and the Stork (at the Petit Théâtre), Tame me, the Little Train, the animal shows, the aerousel, the Little Prince 3D, the Volcano, the Boa , the Citadel, Saute-Mouton, Dew of the Desert, Draw Me a Sheep, Metamorphosis, the Labyrinth…

Is the Park accessible to people with reduced mobility?

Under certain conditions, our attractions are available to people with reduced mobility, in particular our flagship attraction: the balloons! If you take a look at our map, you will be able to see the accessibility details. We have set up the Pass Prince. This is a Pass in the form of a bracelet reserved for people with disabilities which allows the beneficiary and 3 accompanying persons to have a fast-track entry to the attractions. This Pass is issued at the ticket office on the day of arrival upon presentation of a disability card. The attractions that work with the Pass Prince are indicated on a small document that will be provided to you at the ticket office. In some cases the specific queue is indicated by a small Pass Prince panel, in other cases you just have to report to the operator to get priority access.

Am I too tall/too heavy to enjoy the rides?

If it is possible for you to board our attractions while respecting our safety conditions (include the harness or the handrail for example), then you will be able to take full advantage of all of our attractions! Only the Trampolin Park is subject to a maximum weight limit, set at 120kg.

My child is in plaster, can he enjoy the attractions?

People wearing a cast are not accepted on board our thrill rides.

Can my child enter the Park without an adult?

Minors under 16 cannot enter the Park without the presence of an adult for safety reasons.

I am pregnant, what attractions can I do?

All thrill rides are strongly discouraged during your pregnancy.

Booking a ticket or a box

Do I need to book in advance my entrance ticket?

No reservation is necessary to access the Parc du Petit Prince.

Should I book my box by phone or email?

If you have a box, no reservation is necessary in advance. Simply go to the park ticket office on the desired day of your visit and exchange it for tickets.

Our restaurants

Can we eat in the park?

It is even recommended! Whether you prefer sandwiches, hot dogs, fries, tartes flambées, vegetarian dishes, cafeteria, ice cream or typical Alsatian cuisine, there is something for everyone. Nine atypical catering outlets are available to you in the Park and at the Tavern.

Can I bring my own picnic?

No problem! Many shaded areas are available to you so that you can taste your own homemade dishes in the best possible conditions. You can leave the Park through the shop from 11:30 a.m. and return to the Park. For great thirsts or cool breaks, our kiosks offer you cold drinks and ice creams to enhance your meal.

The parking

Is parking free?

Absolutely! And even better: you will be able to return to your car during the day and re-enter the park. To do this, simply ask for a stamp from the staff of our shop from 12 noon. Special pitches are provided for people with reduced mobility, buses and motorhomes (only during the day)

Do you have charging stations for electric vehicles?

Not yet!

The animals

Are dogs allowed in the Park?

Our four-legged friends (excluding guide dogs for the blind or visually impaired) are not allowed in the park, however well trained they may be. To temporarily make up for their absence, you will have the pleasure of coming across many animals in semi-freedom during your visit. Don't leave your dog in the car! You can benefit from preferential rates at the Staffelfelden kennel: Contact details: Alain Lerch – Le Clos de Gardians
Chemin départemental 19
68850 Staffelfelden

Aren't the animals in the Park unhappy?

The entire Park team works with the greatest respect for its animals. They are tamed. They are not forced to obey. Taming is something too often forgotten. It means "to create links". You have to be very patient, to be able to approach them little by little, so that they have confidence in us. Most of them circulate in semi-freedom and are happy to return home on their own in the evening. We are fortunate to be able to offer you a unique show of acrobatic pigeons where the animals perform aerial feats, thanks to the time and patience of their keepers.
